CC Fanfic tidbits and Updates

I’m happy to say that the writing of Forever and a Day is progressing rather nicely. An update should be coming in the not too distant future.

I do hope you’re aware that the rating is at least a solid R for this series, and it’ll reach M at some point. No, that’s not a joke. Candy and Albert are not exactly kids anymore. So you can expect them doing grown-up stuff 😉

Also, as I mentioned before, the series will be updated in a sporadic fashion, which means update can happen in small fractions or fragments. However, what I didn’t inform you is that I may not always post an update alert when there is an update/revision. Hence you may want to keep that in mind, in case you’re wondering why it feels like there’s something different the second time or nth time you read it.

Anyway, are you curious about the song Albert originally planned to play in the wedding in Forever and a Day?

Candy Candy Manga Rambling Part VII: A Long Period of Courtship?

If you read my letter 2 rambling, you know that I think Albert is courting Candy through their correspondence. How long do you think their courtship lasts? Going back to the final scene of the manga, we see Albert presenting … Continue reading

Reverie Update and Status

As promised, here’s the lowdown:

There was a bit of a scare earlier that had sent me into a panic attack when the entire site seemed to have vanished into oblivion, swallowed by the blackhole.

Thank goodness all is well now.

But at the moment, the site is still offline.

Changes are coming, and these changes will directly impact those of you who are still waiting for your account to be activated and those who are interested to register, but not so much those with active accounts.

So anyone without active account who still wants to obtain access should continue reading this.

First, I want to address those of you who have registered at Reverie since early March. You’re probably wondering whether you will ever be granted an access. The answer is yes, eventually. It’s not going to be right away, and the process won’t be as simple as it was before. There are extra steps to follow.

What happened?

It turns out there’s a possible breach in the registration system that must be patched up at once. Because of this I have to implement additional precautionary measures to all pending accounts. Please note this means there will be extra steps you need to do in order for your account to be activated, and you must do it correctly as detailed in the notification email. Otherwise you’ll risk to have your account deactivated and purged, and your IP address might be blocked.

In addition, to prevent any future problem, I decided to disable the automatic registration system.

Eh?!!

Does this mean you can’t register at Reverie anymore?

That is correct. BUT there’s a way if you still want to gain access to Reverie’s restricted sites, and the procedures are clearly outlined in the registration page.

Basically, you need to send me a private message. The message should contain a brief statement about the request for access, along with your name, email address, and your country of current residence. Providing me with more information than the required ones listed, such as the reason why you would like to get access, is not necessary, but it may facilitate the approval process. Conversely, providing me with inadequate or wrong information may result in your IP address being blocked, and a request made using an anonymous email provider will be denied.

And please, I beg you, do NOT create a duplicate/secondary account should you run into any problem. Instead send me a message with a detailed description of your problem. I might be forced to ban you if I discover you have multiple accounts.

I hate to impose such strict requirements, but considering the harms this potential breach might cause, that it could be used as a backdoor for infiltrating the main server with malwares and viruses, I don’t want to take anything for granted. I hope you understand.

The good news is that I’m almost done with all the works. So expect the site to be back soon, maybe with an update or two 😀

Announcement: Reverie is down

As mentioned a few days ago, there are works that need to be performed on the site.

So, regrettably, Reverie is offline for the time being, and you won’t be able to access any of its contents.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you.

I’ll be sure to post another announcement once it’s back online.

In the mean time, please feel free to linger here and browse through all the materials in your leisure.

Thank you for your understanding.

Still here :D and a heads up

Nope, I haven’t disappeared. I’m still here, and plan to hang around here for a while.

I hope the period of inactivity last week didn’t trigger any bouts of anxiety in some of you. Because that’s the last thing I want. My apology if it did.

I was away on a week-long vacation with my family, leaving my laptop behind at home. Before my trip, I had wanted to post a quick update alerting my short hiatus. Alas, several things came up at the last minute, and I had no time to do that.

But now I’m back, and ready to bombard you with more updates 😀

I’m very happy the sequel of ND, Forever and a Day, has been well received. Thank you for taking the time to read it and for all your comments. It’s truly humbling to see that, despite the (ridiculously) long wait, which at times seems like a lost cause, you’re still very much invested in the series. I’ll do my best not to lose the enormous level of confidence you’ve given me by striving to deliver a story that is both well-written and entertaining. In case you’re wondering, the next update is already in the works, and it’s coming along quite nicely.

That’s the good news, and yes, you’re right if you guess there is the not-so-good news trailing behind that. But it’s nothing severe that can make you cry in agony. I promise 😀

It’s just that Reverie will be offline for a duration that could last up to a few days. This means during this time no one will be able to access the blog, including all the unrestricted sites.

I’ll inform you exactly when this occurs as well as update you on the status, so you wouldn’t get caught unaware.

And yes, you can expect a few changes to the site. I’ll talk more about Reverie in a different post.

In the mean time, be on the lookout for more posts to come this week.

Candy Candy Manga Rambling Part VI: The End of the Manga = The Beginning of a Courtship?

Here you go, the first update. A short rambling on our favorite subject. Umm… Okay, maybe that’s not completely true. To some of you, this may be a brand new article you’ve never read before, but to some of you, … Continue reading

Quick Note: Reverie Registration Process

For those of you who recently registered and those who plan to register in the near future, please note that when you register your account is not instantly active. You will need to check your email for account activation notification. Once you receive the email, you should be able to login without any problem, and if you wish to change your password you may do so in your profile page.

I hope this is clear now, and to ensure there’s no more confusion, I’ve corrected the post registration message.

But should you run into any problem, please do not hesitate to message me.

Also, there are a few accounts that I can’t activate. This is because these accounts were created via the wordpress registration system, which is not the same system used by Reverie. So those of you who registered using this method, you have to re-register here

PS – I’m quite tied up with lots of things right now, but I’ll try to post something before EOW.  My plan is to continue with the translation of letter 3. So stay tuned for that.
